Vaccination for Dogs

1. Rabies, a vlid vaccination applied according to instruction of vaccine manufacturer, initial dose should not be applied before 12 weeks of animal age
2. Canine Distemper Virus (CDV)
3. Canine Parvo Virus
4. Infectious Canine Hepatitis
5. Leptospirosis

Vaccination for Cats

IMPORTING PETS TO UAE

Banned Breeds:

The following breeds of dogs are prohibited to be imported into UAE:

1.Staffordshire Bull Terrier
2. American Pitbull Terrier
3. American Staffordshire Terrier
4. American Bully
5. Brazilian Mastiff (Fila Brasiliero)
6. Argentinian Mastiff (Dog Argentino)
7. Any Mastiff or Hybrid

8. Japanese tosa or hybrid
9. Rottweilers breed or hybrid
10. Doberman Pinschers
11. Canario Presa
12. Boxer
13. Any mixed breed of above breeds of dog or their hybrid

What is required:

Original Vaccination card or animal passport includes pet microchip, date of birth, validity of treatments, Rabies vaccination and other vaccinations records (Dates, manufacturer, batch No.etc).

Rabies Serum Neutralization test (RSNT) Certificate

If an original Certificate for Rabies Serum Neutralization test (RSNT), it should be conducted within the 90 days prior to travel attesting a minimum titer of 0.5IU/ml or above , this certificate is not required from the listed countries below :

Australia, Austria, Andorra, Barbados, Bahrain, Belgium, Comoros, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, French Polynesia, Falkland Island, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Mauritius, Malta, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, San Marino, Seychelles, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Vanuatu, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Palau, Latvia, Albania, Croatia, Maldives, Spain, Slovakia, Korea, Montenegro, Suriname, Micronesia, Greece, Marshall Islands and the Bahamas.

Cargo vs Excess baggage:

Importing pets to UAE can only be done by cargo and no excess baggage option is available.

EXPORTING PETS FROM UAE

Following are the important points to consider while exporting a pet from UAE:

- Does the destination country require quarantine? If so, for how long ?

- Is using a relocation agent mandatory for clearance ?

- Timeframes for vaccines and parasites treatment (90 days for Rabies blood test)

- The validity of the certificates and documents issued for relocation purpose.

- Flat face pets (French bulldog dog, Persian cat...etc.) might not be allowed on specific airlines during certain times of the year.
